May 23-Former Loggers pitcher Adam Rogers (04-05), now at Class A Dunedin, Fla. (Blue Jays) pitched in the Hall of Fame Game at Doubleday Field in Cooperstown, N.Y. on Monday.
Rogers was called up to the Blue Jays' major league exhibition squad to pitch against Baltimore. Rogers relieved Toronto starter Tomo Ohka in the fourth inning and allowed two runs. He faced two big leaguers, allowing a single to Jay Gibbons, also a former Northwoods League player, and retiring Corey Patterson on a fly out.
Rogers was one of six Blue Jays minor leaguers called up for the game. He is 0-0 with a 4.50 ERA in two appearances at Class A this season.

As one of the 14 who followed along in ’06, welcome back. It’s been a long winter, waiting for the return of your Loggers blog. Two questions: a) will the Loggers make the playoffs this summer? B) is a LoggerDog really worth the money?

Thanks for your dedication.
As far as the playoffs, I think that's a cautious "yes." The South Division has a new look this year, with Rochester out and Green Bay and Battle Creek in, so there's an element of mystery involved. The Loggers appear to have loaded up on good hitters from solid D-I programs. Maybe they can drive in runners in scoring position; a major problem in '06.
Loggerdogs aren't for the faint of heart, or for those with heart problems. They are made to feed a family of four, which make them a pretty good value.
