As the world just gets stranger and stranger, I try to take things in stride, though it’s not always easy. I’ve sort of learned to live with polar ice caps melting, drug resistant germs proliferating, teenagers texting while driving, Katie Couric anchoring the evening news, uncontrollable forest fires, relentless hurricanes, the almost daily appearance of new exercise machines, the knowledge that monkeys recently killed a politician in India, Britney Spears, American Idol being called quality television, George Bush being president, people buying anything written by Ann Coulter, botox, Pluto being humiliated, temperatures rising, Hillary Clinton’s lead in the polls, Dick Cheney having avoided being thrown in jail, Barry Bonds having avoided being thrown in jail, Nancy Grace having her own cable show, Paul Bremer receiving the Medal of Freedom, tsunamis, disappearing coastlines and microwavable Hamburger Helper.
But now I know the world is coming to end after reading about the latest trend in prison reform -- the beauty pageant.
Don’t believe me; then follow the link at the end of this entry.
Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you check out my next post.
