Hillary’s at it again

.
Hillary Clinton’s bid to change the rules she and her campaign agreed to regarding the Florida and Michigan primaries is a shameful ploy deserving of condemnation.

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water, with Billary having pulled back from their no-holds-barred, attack style of hardball politics, Hillary decides to chuck the concept of fair play with a disingenuous ploy to “let the voters of Florida and Michigan be heard.”

And once again, it’s not the vast right-wing conspiracy and Fox News criticizing her, but mainstream Democrats and liberal media, from The New York Times to The New Republic.

How can anyone, including her supporters, justify and explain away this shameless maneuver?

With recent losses in Main, Nebraska, Washington and Louisiana, expect the Clintons’ efforts to intensify, especially if she does poorly in today’s primaries in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia.

" Well, my "word" is based on independent researchers like David Ray Griffin, James Fetzer, Jim Marrs, Kevin Barrett and European press outlets like Radio France and Le Figaro. Put simply, the American corporate media serve the rich and the powerful and the truth is often a threat to the rich and powerful (9/11 being a great example)-therefore the media act to suppress the truth and give us a fairytale (Osama and the 19 hijackers) instead. "

I am an "Army brat", my father left some flesh in Vietnam, my Grandfather donned the uniform during the 2nd World War and my Greatgrandfather served in the 1st World War. I enlisted out of High School. So please. This rspect is manifest in my rabid protestations against US politicians, like Bush, who send our troops to their deaths in situations that have nothing to do with protecting the USA or my freeedoms. Sorry. All the troops in Iraq are doing nothing to protect me or my freedoms. They're protecting Exxon and Chevron's record setting profits. "

" It's interesting that folks are debating an 'urban legend' -- this 'Osama'BamaMama' thing that someone has decided to recirculate ad infinitum it seems. The incident of course NEVER actually happened; it's obviously a right-wing political 'joke' (playing on the rhymes) that expresses the pro-wars theme in the pungent simplicity necessary to make it popular. The 'soldier' must remain unnamed -- he/she stands for supposedly ALL soldiers' views and the implication is that if one disagrees with this viewpoint one doesn't 'support the troops' etc. etc. I would assume this 'joke' has and will pop up regularly on many right-wing blogs and during the rest of the campaign. Get used to it! as they say... "

And, I see where he is coming from. I fear what some of her ideas, if put into practice, will do to our country. And try to show our soldiers more respect. They are in the trenches defending your freedoms while you pick fights on message boards all day. "

" Osama bin Laden was treated for kidney problems at the American hospital in Dubai from July 4-14, 2001. He was visited there by the local CIA agent, and then was allowed to leave for Pakistan when his treatment was completed. At the time, he was our most wanted man, suspected of the embassy bombings in Africa and the attack on the USS Cole--but he was allowed to leave. Why? Because he and the 19 hijackers were the patsies set up to take the fall for 9/11. "

Dear "To BGS" wrote on Feb 14, 2008 3:00 AM:

" My reading comprehension skills are fine. The soldier said he feared Barack Obama and Hillary....what is he some sort of sissy? Fear has a real definition. What has this soldier to fear from two American citizens serving the public? Putting two Senators in the same comparative sentence with Bin Laden is downright 'tarded.....Obviously the individual hasn't the vocabulary tool set necessary to express his differences with the Senators and thusly has rendered himself a fool. Their best PR comes from the right wing and the Bush Admin. Do you know how silly powerful USA looks shackling a bunch of skinny cave dwellers in prison fro 5 years looks to the rest of the world. We look like idiots. "

" A persons FEAR is directly related to a persons ignorance. When you were kids you feared monsters in the closet or under your bed. People fear flying. People fear sharks when they swim. This is all due to ignorance. Likewise...Bush and his followers extreme fear of Bin Laden stems from ignorance. We're spending as much now on Defense, adjusted for inflation, as we spent during WWII when we fought the Imperial Japanese, Nazi Germans and Fascists. That's due to ignorance. Anyone putting a US Senator in the same fear category as an Int'l terrorist is obviously an ignorant dufus. Most likely the soldier was trying to be funny. Being a soldier doesn't automatically garner you respect...there are many bad soldiers in our forces just like there are many bad people in our Society. "

To To 9:54am wrote on Feb 13, 2008 12:04 PM:

(Who's AGAINST the disabled getting a square deal? Employers who fear health care charges -- yet another reason for a single payer national insurance!) And if one shouldn't vote against Hillary because she's a woman, one should be careful about voting for her just because. I mean would you vote for Ann Coulter because hmm?! Hillary's got 'baggage' -- from Bill, from a presidency that was in many ways a real disappointment; THAT's her main problem -- not her gender... "

There was a minor dust-up last month over Hills' remark that Martin Luther King Jr 'needed' a president like Lyndon Johnson (a silly controversy because she was obviously correct) but Hillary seems more and more the Johnsonesque candidate to Obama's well you know, JFKish. Experience vs hope/change is again the mantra; however McCain fired his first shot too -- dedication to the wars vs the anti-imperium. Stay tuned! as Ronnie R used to say... "

I still support Hillary. There were no shenanigans. Hillary does represent experience. Obama represent a vague promise to change the political process, opposition to a female in charge and of course brown skin. There you have it. If you hate women, or if you’re a Black racist, or if you dream of politicians playing well together then, Obama is your guy. Will Obama be a great president? Probably as great as George W. Bush. I do NOT want more of the same, you must just by what you say in your articles. "

" Clearly flop sweat has penetrated the Clintonian veneer; Obama could win the nomination and even the presidency. Again I am reminded of `1960: the more 'experienced' Democratic candidates were Sen Lyndon Johnson of Texas the majority leader, Sen Stuart Symington of Missouri who had been air force secretary, Sen Hubert Humphrey of Minnesota who had become the most prominent liberal spokesperson in the senate and Adlai Stevenson, two times (1952 and '56) the party's nominee. John F. Kennedy was far more an 'ambience' of relative youth (42), certainly charm, wit and obvious intelligence but he hadn't an extensive record of legislative achievement. He was a 'feeling' rather than an 'act'... "
