Woodworth wins A-Sun weekly award

.
May 15 -- Pete Woodworth, a sophomore right-hander from Florida Gulf Coast University who has signed with the Loggers, was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Pitcher of the Week for the second time in a row.

Woodworth struck out 12 batters in seven innings and led FGCU to a 6-2 win over East Tennessee State on May 10. The win clinched the A-Sun title for FGCU, which is in its first season as an NCAA Division I program.

Woodworth is 7-2 with a 3.82 ERA and has 73 strikeouts in 73 innings. He is scheduled to start Friday at South Carolina-Upstate. It will be his final outing of the spring, since FGCU is not eligible for the postseason as a probationary D-I program.
