SOME INTERESTING TV THIS WEEKEND
On PBS tonight “POV” looks at four U.S. soldiers -- two who completed a full tour of duty in Iraq but claimed conscientious objector status when called a second time, and two who are currently serving their second tours in the battle zone. It runs at 9:00 P.M. CST.
“The Secrets of Body Language” looks like it could be interesting, especially in view of the presidential debates where so much has been made of the candidates’ contrasting styles and manner. The program airs at 9:00 P.M. CST on the History Channel.
Turner Classic Movies is showing two one-of-a-kind masterpieces in keeping with the crazy and dangerous times in which we live. At 7:00 P.M. CST tonight it broadcasts the seminal terrorist-espionage classic, “The Day of the Jackal,” and at 12:30 P.M. on Saturday it runs the blackest of all satires, “Dr. Strangelove: Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.” Sadly, in some respects, this seminal classic is more relevant than ever.
